| What We Have To Say |
|
Launched in 2008, 1847 Original is made by Philip Morris AB in Sweden and classified as a regular type portion. This means that each portion goes thru an additional step in the manufacturing process that adds a bit more moisture to the portions before they get packaged in their cans. This additional moisture helps the flavors in the snus meld together and release it faster when it’s in your lip. Each can of 1847 Original contains 24, one gram portions that have a Nicotine content of 8 mg each. The material Philip Morris AB uses in 1847 Original is a soft, teabag type material that stays comfortable in the lip for over 1 ½ hours. The can that 1847 Original comes in is pretty unique to the snus world! It’s a steel bottomed can with a lighter gauged steel lid that has the 1847 logo heavily embossed in it. There is a used portion compartment in the bottom, not the typical top, of the can. While the can is unique, the flavor is as well so, let’s take a look at the taste of 1847 Original.
Philip Morris AB describes 1847 Original’s flavor as having a pleasant tobacco taste. While there is a great taste of mild tobacco, there are other elements that we taste! The tobacco flavor has an earthy taste that combines with the salt to create a richer flavored tobacco taste but there is a citrus element. That element is a touch of bergamot. The flavor of bergamot, for those that are not familiar with it, is a cross between a lemon and a grapefruit. The sweetness comes from the lemon and the slight bitterness is the grapefruit. These flavors combine to make a great tasting portion snus that has a great citrus scent as well but, this is what we taste. We want to know what you taste!
So, be sure to add a can or two of 1847 Original portion snus by Philip Morris to your next order and leave us a review of your own. We’ll be looking forward to reading what you think!

1847 has without a doubt, the most beautiful can ever to hold snus.
Unfortunately, the snus inside doesn't measure up (for me).
I loved the first portion I tried and so ordered 3 cans for myself.
Now that I am working on my first can, I'm afraid I'll reserve the rest for when I am drunk and my taste buds are already gone.
The pouch is rough and irritating for starters.
And while the rich tobacco flavor is good...there is a bitter ...yes VERY bitter...aftertaste that follows and ends up making the entire portion unenjoyable.
Great can, though.

Hmm...Somebody like this stuff based on the 4/5 rating. Not me though. I expected Phillip Morris, makers of Marlboro cigarettes, to have a premium product. Maybe it is, but I don't care for it much. I tried two portions, in an attempt to give it a fair chance, however I quickly switched to the next can (Ettan Original, reviewed next). I won't order this one again, probably won't finish this can. The star rating on this site is still 4/5, so someone who cares for this really needs to add a review, since all written reviews are fairly negative. My review? Can 5/5, stylish as hell, but flavor? 2.5/5, average at best. I'll pass.

I have tried over 30 flavors of snus, this is one of the few that I didn't finish. Almost bitter tobacco taste. I can only recommend you try for yourself, it seems you will either love it or hate it.

The only snus I've thrown out so far. Starts out okay, but before long a really strong aftertaste kicks in. Others have called it a windex taste, and that's not a bad description.
