Made by Philip Morris AB in Stockholm, Sweden, 1847 by Philip Morris White is classified as a White type portion meaning that they do not go they the final step in the manufacturing process that adds a bit more moisture to the material. Even though omitting this step leaves the portions a bit dryer than the regular types, Philip Morris uses the same soft teabag type material they use in all their snus which is comfortable under the lip for about an hour and a half. Each can of 1847 White contains 24 portions that are a bit less than one gram each with 8 mg of Nicotine per portion. The unique can is made of steel with the classic 1847 logo embossed in the lid. There is a used portion compartment in the can but it’s on the bottom with a plastic lid! It really is a pretty cool can but, the snus is the main thing so, let’s take a look!
Most descriptions out there pretty much state the flavor of 1847 White as having a pleasant tobacco taste and tend to describe the can better than the flavor! So, we want to be different and let you know that 1847 does have a great tobacco flavor but there’s a light black pepper flavor that comes out in the background too. As the portion sits in the lip for a bit, the slight flavor of citrus begins to peek out but it’s just a hint. The tobacco, salt and peppery notes tend to take center stage in 1847 White. The only downside to 1847 White is that the flavor lasts for only about an hour but, since the Swedish typically keep a portion in for between 30 and 45 minutes, on average, it lasts 15 minutes longer than it should!

Not a big fan of this snus. Can is pretty happening but the flavor is to me had a lemon flavor....real close to what lemon pledge would taste like if you where to taste it. Not good, will not order again.

I recommend purchasing this snus just to get the tin. It's a beautiful tin and will be the envy of all your friends. But, I would probably throw the snus out and fill it with Claq qui or another good portion. Unfortunately for me, the snus didn't live up to the packaging. From what I've noticed among the reviews is that you either love this one or hate it. For me it was like sucking on a cotton ball soaked in perfume. But, I'm a glutton for punishment so I tried it 4 or 5 times to ensure it wasn't something you have to develop a taste for. I eventually gave up and just tossed the portions and kept the tin.

I was looking a long long time for the "snus of my life", and i find it with that product.
I love the design and the flavour.
The flavour is not to strong and not to light.
And when i get a good snus then i would pay a little bit more.

After reading reviews here, and from other sites as well, I thought I should definitely give this a try.
When it arrived, I was highly impressed with the tin, it was high class all the way. Unfortunately for me, I was not happy at all with the taste of this product. There was a strong spice flavor that I can't put my finger on, but it was so over powering that I couldn't enjoy the snus at all.
I tried it 3 different times before I sadly chucked this into the garbage bin, what a shame.
If you like that pungent spice flavor, then this is for you, otherwise, you may wanna stay away.

This to me is as close to perfection I have got in white portion snus!
The tin Aside (which is gorgeous, functional and classy), the snus itself has predominantly high quality tobacco flavour with just the right amount of citrus and perhaps a note of bergamot, however, that could be something in my mind coming from using a lot of general snus over long time.. sort of, one flavour accompanies the other in my mind, even if it isn't there. There or not, the bergamot side of things would only be a faint hint of it.
I have to give this one 4.5 the only thing that draws it down is that it often is a bit too dry...

First impression of this snus is awesome. The can revolutionary and well designed. An embossed steel can, with the ashtray featured on the bottom of the can. My only issue with this is that when the can is kept in the freezer, the ashtray on the bottom is loose until the metal warms up and expands. A press to open lid is nice as well. The snus itself is tobacco, with notes of citrus. the flavor lasts a decent amount of time as well. As one of the higher priced snuses out there, I probably wouldn't buy a roll, but would definitely keep a couple of cans in rotation. 7.5 out of 10, in my opinion for can design and quality of snus (I might rate this higher it the price were a little lower)
