Launched in 2006 by Swedish Match, Ettan White portion is one part of a family of snus that is one of the oldest brand names in Sweden. Ettan White portion is classified as a White type meaning that the portions do not go thru the step that adds a bit more moisture to them at the end of the manufacturing process. By not going thru this step, the material tends to be a bit dryer and leaves it white. While the material is dryer than the regular type, Swedish Match uses the same soft material they use in all their snus and is comfortable in the lip for about 2 hours. Each can of Ettan White contains 24, one gram portions with each having 8 mg of Nicotine. The can its self is made of gold colored plastic with a plasticized paper label with a classic looking design and the Ettan logo. There is a used portion compartment that’s concealed beneath the embossed coat of arms in the lid but, enough about the can, let’s take a look at the flavor!
Ettan White’s flavor is unique in the fact that only 3 main ingredients are in its snus, tobacco, salt and water. It’s been this way with the Ettan line for over 100 years and Ettan White carries on that tradition with only the addition of a bit of smoke flavoring. Ettan White’s taste is the flavor of mild tobaccos that have been hand selected to create an earthy, leather type flavor that has a bit of a peppery note. The slight saltiness, while it’s there to bring out the Nicotine, helps to enhance the tobacco’s flavor and bring it out. The smoke flavoring also mixes well with the earthy flavor and gives Ettan White a bit of sweetness. We think that both new snus users and the experienced snus connoisseur will enjoy the flavor of Ettan White portion snus and we also would like to know what you think!
So, why not add a can or two of Ettan White portions snus to your next order and leave us a review of what you taste. We look forward to reading it!

This is a beautiful snus with a rich tobacco flavor and less drip than the original portion, although not quite as flavorful. I can't really explain the flavor but it's of the best snus out there, and a must try for anybody who like pure tobacco.

Let me start by saying that the Ettan Portions are my personal favorite snus and thought the Ettan Whites would be just as good. Unfortunatley, they are not. They don't taste as strong and don't hit as hard either. It is however a mild and very soft snus, but not enough to make me switch off the regular portions. They won't be in my next order, and they seem to have an almost metallic aftertaste which I found to be apalling, like having a piece of copper in your gum. If you want Ettan, try the original portions. C-

Now I have a bit of an odd view of Ettan snus. Removed from the snus culture that I assume those in Sweden and Norway are immersed in, I don't really know which snuses are popular and with who, but I know that Ettan is meant to be the number 2 selling snus (after General). The thing is that, for some reason, something about it says to me that it's the type of snus that your Grandfather uses... except, I suppose, he'd snus loose; definitely never white portions. Maybe it's the old-style look of the can, the no-nonsense taste or the fact that the Ettan brand itself is so old - getting on for 200 years old.
The flavour is smoky tobacco. With a hint of peat. And it's a mild flavour. Not a bad one, but not great either. It's definitely there, but it's not in your face. Mind you, I have been informed, in no uncertain terms, that the white portion is nothing like the original so maybe, if you're looking for a taste of Ljunglöf's Number One snus, it's better to go for the original portion.
