Kronan Original portion snus is another “Value Priced” snus made by the folks at Swedish Match AB. Kronan Original is classed as a Regular type portion snus since it goes thru the additional wetting step in the manufacturing process that adds a bit more moisture to each portion to help the flavors meld together and bring them out faster when in the lip. The portion material Swedish Match uses for Kronan Original is the same soft, teabag type material they use in all their snus and is comfortable in the lip for over 1 ½ hours. Each can of Kronan Original portion snus has 24, one gram portions with each having 8 mg of Nicotine. Kronan Original’s can is a basic, gold colored, plastic can with a plasticized label that seals the lid to the bottom until you open it. Unfortunately, there is no used portion compartment in the lid but, your more interested in the taste so, let’s talk about that now!
Kronan Original portion is one of a small family of “Value Priced” snus brands in the Swedish Match family but doesn’t have the taste of one. Typically, people tend to think that “value brands” mean lower quality. With Kronan Original, this is not the case. Kronan Original portion’s is really complex in the fact that there is the same kind of tobacco used in a lot of Swedish Match’s regular priced brands along with quality flavorings of citrus and herbs. When these are combined, we get a peppery, dill flavored snus! Not like fresh dill but, the same taste of a dill pickle. Like the ones you would get from a deli in downtown Manhattan!
