Made by Swedish Match and launched in 1994, Probe Whiskey portion was actually released as a portion before being released as a loose version which is a rarity in the Swedish snus world! Probe Whiskey is classified as a regular type portion which means that each one goes thru an added step in the manufacturing process that adds a bit more moisture to the portions prior to being packaged in the can. This added step helps the flavors in the snus to marry together and release its flavor faster when it’s in your lip. The material that Swedish Match uses for Probe Whiskey is the same soft material they use in all of their portion snus and is comfortable in the lip for over 2 hours. Each can of Probe Whiskey contains 24, one gram portions with each having 9 mg of Nicotine. Probe Whiskey’s can is made of gold colored plastic with a plasticized paper label that has the graphics one would find at a Kentucky horse track. There is also a used portion compartment in the lid but you’re not here for the can or the label, you’re here for the taste so, let’s take a look!
Probe Whiskey’s flavor is pretty unique in the Swedish snus world because it uses Kentucky bourbon as its main flavoring. To date, it’s one of the very few that mixes an American made product in a Swedish snus. The bourbon gives the snus a slightly sweet taste while bringing the herbal flavors out in the tobaccos that are used in Probe. Hints of smoky elements, along with a slight spicy taste of cinnamon and light caramelized sugars from the bourbon, mix with the peppery notes in the tobacco to give Probe Whiskey a well rounded flavor that’s not drowned out by the bourbon. While this is what we taste, we’d like to hear what you taste in Probe Whiskey.
Why not add a can of Probe Whiskey portion snus to your next order and leave a review of your own telling us what flavors you taste! We look forward to reading it.

I belive this kinda of snus is pretty good if used once in a while, i mean if you're an alchoolic you might get used to it but it's way too sweet and again, it's something i'd like to have after some great meal, not everyday.

When I found out there was a whiskey-flavored snus, I thought it sounded weird but I knew I had to try it. Now that I have, the whiskey makes a lot of sense: with the salt and smoke of the tobacco, the added flavor of whiskey makes it taste sort of like a scotch from the Highlands. It's still nice and mild, though. The flavor lasts a long time. I definitely recommend it, but it's not for everybody and not for everyday.

okay just finished my 2nd portion of this stuff and thought i would write a review.
First the smell is very sweet and smoky to me. but a sweet smoke smell.
I popped the portion in and flavor was almost immediate very sweet and kind of a smoked wood flavor. I liked it but not as an all day snus Kinda one i would like to use after a large sunday meal.
It is a unique flavor and would recommend people give it a try not the best but not gross either.
I will probably order this from time to time just to keep in the freezer to have once in a while.

I agree.
I've also found that it's best used late at night from frozen state.
It's like whiskey-snus on-the-rocks

The whiskey flavor is not that pronounced. More of a "in the background" type thing. Not bad, but I expected a little whiskey flavor. BTW, I'm basing all my reviews on first impressions. I agree with other users, in that the second use was more enjoyable than the first. I will definitely finish this can, but subsequent orders of this are a little up in the air. Perhaps a third or fourth usage will be better, but I have to give this a "just OK" type rating. Can 3/5, kind of a "traditional" cope type style, Flavor also 3/5. Pretty much average, not offensive, not great.

It took me a few pouches, but I am more and more impressed with this snus. I'm sitting here with one in, just ticking past an hour, and my mouth is still tingling and tasting great. The flavor on this snus is incredibly long lasting, and though the whiskey flavor is subdued, it does give the tobacco a deep, earthy taste. As said, an excellent snus for post meals or late evening with a pint. Not, however, for a first time snus user.
4/5

It doesn't taste like Jacobsons Irish Whiskey or Jack Daniels, but I still like the whiskeyish flavor a whole lot. It's a very nice portion to have right after a meal. Just beware, it makes your breath smell like a drunk.
